How to play tongue drum with your hands? Tutorial #8 (beginner)

There are several ways of playing tongue drum, you can play it with two mallets, a hand and a mallet, or both hands. In this tutorial, we are going to look at how to play tongue drum with your hands or more precisely with your fingers.

There is a simple exercise in the tutorial below which consists in playing each note of the tongue drum with the thumb of your dominant hand.

It is very important to rotate your hand so that your thumb can strike the note as if it were a whip. If your thumb touches the note too long, the tongue will not vibrate.

Then you can alternate with your forefinger, keeping in mind that your finger must whip the notes of your tongue drum.

Once you master these techniques with your dominant hand, you can try with the other hand.
